On March 10, 2025, Nyíregyháza, Hungary, hosted the launch event of the Planning4U project, a cross-border initiative bringing together partners from Hungary, Romania, and Ukraine. The event was attended by Pataki Csaba, President of the Satu Mare County Council and the Inter-community Development Association (ADI) Satu Mare County, who emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in addressing current challenges.
“Our border regions are interconnected, and by working together, we can develop effective solutions that benefit our communities. Through Planning4U, we aim to strengthen economic and social ties and support local development in response to pressing challenges,” stated Pataki Csaba during his speech at the event.
Funded under the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme, the project has a total budget of €600,327 and seeks to provide strategic solutions to key regional challenges, including Ukrainian public administration reform, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the effects of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
ADI Satu Mare County plays a key role in the project by leading the elaboration of development strategies for three border settlements in Satu Mare County, Romania, preparing a comprehensive report assessing the effects of the war on border regions, and organizing training courses on project management and public procurement to enhance institutional capacity.
By fostering collaboration between the three countries, Planning4U aims to support sustainable development and improve resilience in border communities.
