The application window for Regular-Scale Projects with infrastructure budget line and Large-Scale Projects under the Interreg NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme’s 1st Call for Proposals has officially closed as of March 14, 2024, at 15:00 (Central European Time). We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all applicants for their submissions.
Here’s a brief overview of the numbers for the second phase of the Call, dedicated to regular-scale projects with infrastructure and large-scale projects: 225 applicants submitted 76 project proposals, collectively requesting EUR 129.55 million in funding. These proposals represent our programme’s priorities and objectives, demonstrating a wide range of cross-border projects designed to enhance cooperation and foster development throughout our border regions.
Upon analysis, some key trends emerge: Objective 2.1 focused on creating a healthy and attractive border region, drew the highest number of applicants across all countries. It underscores a strong interest in projects aimed at regional growth and attractiveness. Objective 1.1 and Objective 1.2 addressing climate change adaptation and biodiversity/pollution reduction respectively, received significant attention across all countries. This underscores a shared commitment to environmental sustainability.
Overall, the data portrays a vivid picture of a diverse range of project ideas and a profound interest from applicants across participating countries in addressing the various priorities and objectives outlined in the Interreg NEXT Programme. We’re currently processing the submissions, reviewing each proposal against administrative and eligibility criteria. Every proposal will receive the thorough consideration it deserves.
