On 24 February 2025, a significant step was taken in strengthening the cooperation between the Széchenyi Programme Office (SZPI) and the Košice Self-governing Region with the signing of a Financing Agreement securing the operation of the Programme’s Branch Office in Košice for the 2021-2027 programming period.
The agreement was signed during a meeting between Mr. Áron Szakács, Head of SZPI, and Mr. Rastislav Trnka, President of the Košice Self-governing Region. The discussions focused on the ongoing partnership and the new Call for Proposals under the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme.
The Branch Office in Košice plays a crucial role in facilitating cross-border cooperation, supporting project partners, and ensuring the smooth implementation of the Programme’s activities in the region. This agreement reaffirms the commitment of both institutions to fostering regional development and strengthening international collaboration.
